The directive applies to large EU-based companies, covering around 6,000 businesses in total. It includes limited liability companies and partnerships with more than 1,000 employees and a net global turnover of over EUR 450 million. It also applies to parent companies of corporate groups that meet these thresholds on a consolidated basis. Additionally, franchisors or licensors are covered if their agreements ensure a common identity and business model, they generated more than EUR 22.5 million in royalties in the last financial year, and the company or its group had a global turnover of over EUR 80 million.
