Are there obligations for non-EU countries?

No, this Regulation imposes obligations solely on operators and traders (refer to chapter 2) as well as on EU member states and their competent authorities (refer to chapter 3).
Nevertheless, numerous countries globally have initiated efforts to bolster deforestation-free supply chains and fortify public traceability systems on relevant commodities. Such initiatives are advantageous as they can significantly assist companies in meeting their obligations under this Regulation.
